Now that I’ve lost my friendly venue to play music each week (I’ll miss it), I’ve turned my focus to songwriting. I tend to put off songwriting because it turns into a game of frustration. I hear something cool in my head. I demo it out, and it doesn’t sound cool anymore. Right now, I’m working on a simple riff-based song, and it’s horrible! I need to keep to it. My goal is four hours a day.
Worse, I haven’t been able to join with my local friends in the Songwriters Fellowship because of a class schedule conflict (I’m also grinding away at a Master’s degree, not in music). So I don’t have willing ears to test my ideas out on — beware guinea pigs.
My latest album, New Hearing Time is still available for free download on Nimbit. You should check it out. It’s a quick listen.
